If your Dakine bag gets dirty, we recommend hand washing with mild soap (like Nikwax Tech Wash), cold water and a soft bristle brush. If hand washing is not going to do the trick, use a front loader washing machine. To ensure your backpack doesn't get tangled, place inside a pillowcase or mesh bag before washing. Always use cold water, mild soap and run on a gentle cycle. Never bleach your pack. Hang to dry in a warm but shady place, ensuring both inside and out are dry before storing.

Buy this bag!

I just completed a 4 week tour in Europe with my band and needed a bag that was high quality, carry-on compliant and that I could get into and pack easily as I was moving to a new city every day! The pockets are super intuitive and the clamshell design fits more than you think! I used the shoe compartment for heavier items like denim and sweaters and stored my extra pair of shoes above. I highly recommend and can't wait to use the Split Adventure backpack on my next trip!

Amazing work and travel bag

I didn't realize I was in the market for a new work and travel bag until I saw this! It has lots of space and love how the water bottle pockets are in the front! I can fit a large shaker cup in and a tall water bottle without any problems. Feels really comfortable on with a high weight load, makes the walk to work a lot more comfortable and will be traveling with a little more style now too!!

Great product!

I used this for a weekend getaway and it was great. It is nice quality and the pockets and compartments are well planned. I was able to organize my things and carry all with ease. I am looking forward to using it with my Dakine suitcase on an upcoming 2 week tour out of the country. The feature that allows it to slip over the handle of the suitcase will be very helpful!

Best back packs ever

This pack fits the needs of all my family ended up getting four of them! 2 for my high schoolers and one for husband and older son! These packs are very versatile can hold everything you need for school or travel.

Great travel bag!

This bag made it's way to Europe with me and it made for packing some extra gear not a hassle since I had two carryons and one was my backpack. Same great Dakine quality and style. Love this bag so much my wife now has the Blue.

Solid travel pack

It's hard to tell with the limited photos but the Split Adventure 38L Backpack had more than I expected. plenty of room for 2 outfits, and extra pair of shoes, toiletries, my laptop and charging cables. My only suggestion would be to show a break down of how much you could really pack in each backpack in the photos. I took a shot in the dark having never used a dakine backpack. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised!

Does the Split Adventure 38L have a waist belt? If it does not, would I be able to add a removable waist belt onto the backpack by sliding the waist belt through the back paneling (the same paneling that hides the backpack straps)? Thanks. Sorry for the overly complex/convoluted question.

I have a 40oz Hydroflask water bottle. Will it fit in the front pocket of the Split Adventure 38L? I'd like to order ASAP if it does, so please let me know as soon as you can. Thank you so much!

Unfortunately the 40oz hydroflask is slightly too large to fit in the split adventure pocket. It can however fit a more standard size water bottle.

Does this pack have straps to secure folded clothing?

Hi David, So, the newly designed Split Adv. Pack 38L now comes with a sealed, mesh covered main compartment to hold and secure the articles you've packed in place. Our previous models, however, did have the internal compression straps & buckle system for securing the main opened compartment. Please reach out for further assistance at store@dakine.com.
