Hard shell knee pads for gravity-fueled riding.
Pedal-friendly, pro-level impact coverage. Designed for gravity-fueled riding with input from Dakine team riders, these mountain bike knee pads are designed to articulate while you pedal, so they stay in place as you ride. A skid plate and foam padding combo disperses impact loads, while the breathable build keeps the air flowing to keep you dry and comfortable. They are remarkably lightweight to boot.

Comfy
Super comfortable, don’t slide at all. Low enough profile they fit easily under my riding pants!
Super comfortable and stays in
Super comfortable and stays in place, great for Bend riding and love the knee protection on the lava rock here. Stays in place while riding and handles the sweat. Breathable and not too heavy for fun riding.
Knees down the best
Hands down the best overall pads put there. By far best side protection of any burly pads I've tested and I specifically look for that since a nasty contusion on the side of my knee two years ago. I have or have had POC, Ion, Ixs, demon,G-FORM ( newest models), Kali and more. These are the best and comfiest ( for the style) easily. Last used on two days of downhill in La Palma - with some nasty sharp volcano rocks - minor scrapes on pads, knees intact... Fully recommend these for xc to dh Super comfy and very burly!
Mayhem
Provides more than adequate comfort on long lift served days. Fits me perfectly and is of the same quality and construction I have come to expect and appreciate from Dakine.
Bomber Articulation
These pads are amazing. Very burly protection, yet they pedal so well. I never really saw myself riding singletrack with this type of pad, but the way these are designed, I honestly don't even feel them while pedaling.
Excellent
Confortable and stays in place
Mayhem knee pad
Very solid Confortable You feel safe wearing them A bit big if you climb a lot
Mayhem Bike Knee Pads
Did not fit with the largest size you had. Disappointed as they would be good otherwise.
Bomb proof
Used these a few times out in WA. They’ve held up great and saved me a few times. Have taken any super gnarly hits in them yet but sure they would hold up. Riding in them is comfortable as well.
Great protection but questionable durability
Pros: Love the hardshell and long coverage. The fit is fantastic although a little tight if you have larger thighs. The articulating knee joint helps feel less restrictive while pedaling and the perforated padding keeps heat build up manageable. Cons: As optimistic as the anti-microbial lining sounds in theory, the pads will end up smelling pretty horrible with regular use. The biggest fault I've found so far after a year of use with these pads is the flimsy black cloth material that covers the lateral knee protection foam. For something that's used in abrasive conditions and meant to protect you during falls, the black cloth rip incredibly easily when they snag on branches or your pedals. Summary: I'm a fan of Dakine products and own two sets of pads and many gloves but feedback for the product designers on the next iteration of the pads would be to use abrasion resistant material all over.
