Zippers are the downfall
Such a well designed bag, use it for hiking, traveling, work, you name it, but the zippers are AWFUL. They get caught every.single.time. About to take a razor blade and cut off the zipper flaps. Only one other review on here mentions it, but plenty on Amazon express the same issue. I go from loving the bag to hating it in a split second because of the dang zippers?
Blast from the past
Had one of these bags about 10 years ago it was impeccable quality then and so I had to go another and tell ye what still the same level of quality
Good backpack for travel

Amazing
Amazing back pack, it has everything that I need and want.
I love this backpack!
For 25L, it fits a ton. It’s so well designed that it feels like it fits way more than a 26L wheeled bag I have. Love the color and the pockets and compartments seem custom designed to fit all my carryon stuff for air travel. I got this because it has the trolley sleeve on the back to slide over suitcase handle. Got the 32L at first, which was gigantic, and this size is perfect. I also have a different Dakine Campus backpack that I love (just doesn’t have the trolley sleeve), so apparently I love this brand ? Recommend!
Not as much room as I expected
The pack is made well with quality materials and looks amazing, but Im not a fan of the layout. I used it as a day pack for work (I use a backpack over a briefcase) and on a week trip to Vegas last month. I thought it would work great for me but I ended up not liking it as a day/small travel bag. The rear compartment has numerous pockets (:+1::skin-tone-2:) for folders, ipads/laptops, but it doesnt expand much and gets tight after a few things. The larger compartment is in front with only one zipper pocket to separate your things. It ends up gathering all your random things into a big compartment like that kitchen drawer. The biggest peeve for me was fabric lip that covers all zippers getting caught in the zipper when opening and closing. Im not exaggerating. 50% of the time I open and close any of the outside zippers, it gets caught in the fabric. I own 8 different dakine packs, and unfortunately this is my least used one. Granted, it might work well for others, but not for me as a day/light travel pack. In the end, it looks, feels and built to the high standards we expect from DaKine.
A Place For Everything
This backpack hit my sweet spot for daily use. The primary organizer compartment and lap top sleeve closest to the straps keeps the weight right where you want it, with roomier storage up front for bulky clothing items, etc. The zippered bottom pouch is a huge bonus. Three smaller zippered pouches on the outside for sunglasses, phone and small items. One of the pockets has a waterproof lining. I’ve been using it for about a month and am 100% satisfied. Zippers all work smoothly and straps fit comfortably.

Can you tell me what the dimensions of the laptop sleeve are?
Is this backpack considered water-resistant or waterproof? Any protection against the elements?
Does this pack have a chest strap? From the pics, I'm guessing no? If not, why not?
Does The Verge 25L backpack have a dedicated sunglasses pouch?
Does the backpack not have a sternum strap? This is a big size backpack to not have this feature.
Is the bottom compartment large enough for a pair of women’s sneakers?
The bottom compartment might be able to fit a small pair of women's sneakers or sandals - it is limited in width, not as much in height, so the smaller the shoe, the better. Hope this helps!
Is the bottom pocket large enough to fit a pair of shoes in?
The bottom pocket, which has extended verticality but limited width, might be able to fit a small pair of shoes or sandals.
What size water bottle can the side pocket hold? Thanks!
Hi Ivy, This side pocket, from personal experience, can hold standard water bottle sizes and up to 32oz bottles. If you have any further questions, please reach out to store@dakine.com for help. Cheers, Dakine.com
Has the green been discontinued or will there be more in future stocks?
Hi Lucy, This should be receiving replenishment / restock in the "Dark Ivy" colorway here shortly over the next couple of weeks! Please continue checking back in for availability! Cheers, Dakine.com
