Excellent backpack so far!
I got this backpack cca two weeks ago, and so far no regrets! Design and colours wonderful, exactly as in the pictures; durable, waterproof material; and all the compartments I needed. When you shape the insulator cooler material in the front pocket in the corrrect way, you can free up the way for the zipper, so the front compartment opens and closes The small top pocket, with the laptop and iPad sleeves are fleece lined, as promised. A really cool feature it has is that the laptop pockets is sewn to the back of the main compartment around 2 cm/1 in above the bottom. The simple gap provides a great protection in case you drop the bag on the floor - the laptop won't get hit.
One small design suggestion that I would send to desigers of Dakine about most of their backpacks is about the sternum straps. I know this backpack is designed for men, but is sold in also feminine color variations, so women buy it too, which should be expectable. However, the sternum straps are still mens design, so women essentially do not use them, because they are uncomfortable. Good news is that you also have a female design of sternum straps - on your Campus backpacks. I realize they may be more complicated to manufacture than the mens, but if you would throw the female sternum strap design in all your backpack, incliding ones with the male design today. The women strap can be used by both men and women, while the other only by half of them. Therefore, I would like to suggest that when you are making a design of a new backpack and considering the sternum strap, if you don't mind, put the womens version right there. It will be beneficial for everybody and will do harm to no one.
