Perfect trail companion
My go-to bag for longer MTB rides. Plenty of room for snacks, jacket and tube/levers/tools for trail side repairs. The 3L water bladder is more than sufficient and the bag itself is comfortable to wear all day. It’s my second one and I don’t plan on changing bike backpacks anytime soon.
My second Drafter 10L cuz...
the first one was stolen out of the back of my truck! (poor choices at he pub near UCSC). I like this pack because: perfect pocket for my phone, lower center of gravity, shape is arched and has really good ventilation, looks trim unless ya need to carry 4 beers, a lock and a hoodie. edward
WoW
Perfect fit and light, you forget it’s in your back !
Great pack!
I’ve owned this pack for about 8 years and just bought my Whoa-man the same one cuz it’s great!
It’s pretty good, but….
I got this pack to replace my Drafter pack I got in 2013, and was excited to see the bag make a comeback. However, with all the new great features, the waist strap is waaayyyy too small. I’m a larger guy, and had no issues with the previous version, but this one I buckle the waist strap at alll, so I have a significant amount of disappointment in that department. Still 3 stars because the bag is comfortable, and feels quality, just can’t use it like the old version
Drafter, Yeah!
Replaced a well used Camelbak. The Drafter has been a welcomed addition to my back! Breathes well due to the open space between the pack and back panel, holds all the tools I've carried forever, perfect wallet and keys pocket, same for fleece phone pocket that sits at the top (quick to get a photo), magnet for the hose, can get a great sip of water, straps are comfy/no issues. Filling water is easier now that I have that figured out. The only fit issue is the lower back has, what I'm guessing is, plastic wings that don't really fit a 6 foot 190lb. guy. I've tried bending them to fit... we'll see this morning if they have returned to their previous shape... all in all, super stoked on the pack!
Great compact back pack with amazing back ventilation.
Got this back pack as a replacement for my EVOC FR Enduro. Almost ended up getting another EVOC but I was looking for something more compact and not as expensive as an EVOC. For the same price Dakine will include a water bladder!!! The suspended system from the back is great for airflow. I can now actually wear my full body armour when biking without getting sweaty. This is what usually happens with any other back pack. I'm actually considering getting a bigger version for the longer day trips now too.
No more sweaty back!
Bought this mainly for the raised mesh back which works great against sweaty back syndrome. Lots of capacity in the bladder and low center of gravity is a good design. Magnet clip works well too. Seems to magically find itself when finished drinking.
